Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 25, 2026

Privacy-first builder behavior: SlickTimeline's timeline builder is designed so that timeline creation and export happen in your browser.

1. What We Do Not Collect (Timeline Content)

In the current builder flow, we do not receive or store the timeline content you create in the editor.

2. What We May Know (Technical / Operational Data)

Like most websites, we or our hosting provider may have access to standard technical request data needed to operate the Service.

This is standard web/server metadata and is not the same as timeline-content collection.

3. Local Browser Storage

SlickTimeline may use local browser storage (for example localStorage) for UI preferences such as page light/dark mode. This data stays in your browser on your device.

4. Cookies

Public pages are configured to minimize unnecessary server-side cookies for the builder experience. However, some cookies may still be used if required by platform or hosting behavior, and cookie usage may change if we add new features.

5. Analytics (Umami)

We use Umami Analytics to understand general website usage and improve the Service.

Umami may collect limited usage information such as page views, referring pages, browser/device type, and approximate location (country/region level, depending on configuration).

We do not use analytics to collect the content of timelines created in the builder.

Depending on configuration and applicable law, analytics may use cookies or similar technologies. We aim to use privacy-friendly settings where possible.

6. Third-Party Links and Share Buttons

The Service may include links or share buttons for third-party platforms (for example X, LinkedIn, Facebook, WhatsApp). If you use those links, your interactions are governed by the policies of those third parties.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the Service, but no system is completely secure. Use the Service at your own discretion and risk.

8. Data Retention

Because timeline content is not uploaded in the current builder flow, we do not retain user timeline content on our servers. Standard technical logs (if any) may be retained by us or our hosting provider for operational or security purposes.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time, with or without notice. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
